Piers Morgan Tonight - CNN
I worked to launch "Piers Morgan Tonight" in 2011. The idea was to tape hour-long interviews and air them at 9pm each night. But then came the Arab Spring and the show turned into a vital news source. We covered both national and International breaking news. Piers had a unique interview style and whenever we were able to produce and hour-long interview with a celebrity or newsmaker we would call them a "properly in love" interview because that was one of Piers' favorite questions to ask of guests and it always elicited an interesting response.
Piers Morgan's International Appeal
I was in charge of booking a week of shows for the London Olympics. I worked with Team USA and various athletes to plan interviews with the big stars like Michael Phelps ahead of time and then traveled to London to book and produce the games as they happened. Day after day the gold medalists came to talk to Piers Morgan and share their stories with the world. While we were in London we also produced a special TV interview with then Presidential candidate Mitt Romney at the Royal Navy Dockyard.
Townhalls on Gun Violence
In the years that Piers Morgan hosted we saw multiple mass shootings. In an effort to find common sense solutions we put together multiple townhalls with people from all sides and audience members for honest conversations. Townhalls are particularly difficult to book and produce but are always unique and rewarding television.
